Displacement transducer-how it works and applied

Displacement transducers work on mutual induction process. Linear displacement transducer has the basic function of non-electrical energy getting converted to electrical energy. It basically has a cylindrical structure and has two secondary windings at the side of it. The winding are alternately kept clockwise and anti-clock wise alternately. However linear displacement transducers have three different stages in its working system. If there is an external displacement and there is no movement or motion in it then the output tends to zero. When the force is applied in the displacement transducers and the steel iron core tends to move to the second hand side and vice versa.

However it has a lot of applicable uses. It is mainly used in measuring a displacement, which may range from fraction millimeter to centimeter. However displacement transducers act as a secondary transducer. Force, weight and pressure can also be measured using this transducer. It is applicable in producing high output and very good linearity. Most importantly it is preferred over other that it has a very low powered consumption. Displacement transducers provide less friction and low hysteresis. Along with ruggedness infinite resolution is present in it. It has also a very good linearity.
